Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation, assisting in the creation of delicious dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Deli does a tip share with everyone(kitchen is include) so you will receive hourly pay plus tips

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.

Requirements

Previous experience in food service or a similar role within the restaurant or food industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
Basic culinary skills with the ability to use kitchen tools effectively, especially knives.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.
