Position Summary

JM Huber is seeking a Utility Operator at Active Minerals International, a Kaolin Clay production facility in Aiken SC.

Utility Operator: This position keeps process equipment running and producing efficiently while at the same time creating products to meet specifications.

Entry Rate: $21.22

3rd Shift: 10pm - 6am M-F, weekends as required

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Operate mill system to include all associated equipment, controls and duties of an operator.
Operate bagger machines to include all associated equipment, controls and duties of an operator.
Identify, troubleshoot and correct problems with the mill and bagger systems.
Collect and prepare samples for the QC lab, if needed.
Perform QC duties and lab tests if needed.
Blow out equipment filters and lubricate, as needed.
Operate front-end loader, conveying systems and dust collectors.
Maintain silo levels to allow for continuous operations of all loading areas.
Load customer trucks.
Operate the trans-loader, inspect railcars and clean site, as needed.
Operate stencil machine and any other instrument for the process.
Perform preventive maintenance duties and assist maintenance when needed.
Know and maintain product specifications.
Operate forklift, as needed.
Perform housekeeping around work area.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment at the beginning of each shift.
Adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

High School graduate or GED.
Effective communication, both written and verbal.
Strong moral and ethical standards.
Must be able to work individually and in a team atmosphere.
Must be able to operate forklift, requires good eye hand coordination and smooth, simultaneous hand and foot control operation.
General working knowledge of MSHA Safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a production environment. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 55 lbs. on a regular basis. Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb up to 70 feet. Able to operate hand and foot controls simultaneously. Manual dexterity required for operation of hand controls and/or computer keyboard. Vision and a sense of hearing are also required

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
