Full Job Description

Micro Lab Tech

This position is 1st shift Monday-Friday 8a-5pm. We are located in North Augusta, SC. Must be able to commute.

Position Summary:

The QC Microbiology Laboratory Technician supports microbiological quality control activities for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include environmental monitoring, water sampling, laboratory maintenance, documentation, inventory management, and adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), USP requirements, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform viable and non-viable environmental monitoring of classified manufacturing areas in accordance with USP requirements, site procedures, and regulatory expectations.
Aseptic sampling of city and purified (pharmaceutical grade) water for microbiological and chemical analysis.
Documentation of all activities per current good documentation practices as described in SOP.
Maintain laboratory glassware, equipment, and supply inventories in accordance with approved SOPs.
Clean and sanitize QC Microbiology lab per SOP.
Maintain inventory of consumable supplies.
Maintain inventory of microbiological media and reagents.
Effectively prioritize and complete assigned tasks to support laboratory productivity and operational objectives.
Follow approved cGMP directions such as standard operating procedures and other instructions in support of testing and production.
Support weekend or extended-hour coverage as business needs require.
These responsibilities may change based on the company’s organizational needs.

Qualifications:

Required

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to follow written procedures and document activities accurately.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems).
Ability to work in a regulated GMP environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred

Associate degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Laboratory Science, or related field.
Previous pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food manufacturing, or laboratory experience.
Familiarity with USP requirements and cGMP regulations.
Experience with environmental monitoring and aseptic techniques.

ADA-These Requirements are a Condition of Employment:

Must be able to push, pull, squat, stand and walk through-out the day
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to wear safety shoes & glasses through-out the day while in designated areas. (provided by the company)
You must be cleared by a physician to wear a respirator throughout the day while in designated areas.
Must be able work in a chemical environment.
