Full Job Description

Job Summary

WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL OCCASSIONALLY. Base pay + Per Diem (Hotel is paid for by the company).

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Crane Operator to join our construction and heavy equipment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating cranes and other heavy machinery to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of materials on construction sites, warehouses, and shipping yards. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, rigging procedures, and materials handling techniques to ensure safety and productivity. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a commitment to safety standards, possess excellent technical skills, and have experience working in dynamic construction or industrial environments.

Duties

Operate cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment with precision to lift, move, and position materials according to project specifications.
Perform routine inspections of crane and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance before each use.
Set up rigging equipment securely for lifting operations, ensuring load stability and adherence to safety protocols.
Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, and team members to plan lifting activities efficiently.
Handle materials safely within warehouse settings or construction sites, including shipping and receiving operations.
Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance records.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents or injuries during operation.
Assist with general site tasks such as loading/unloading materials and supporting other construction activities as needed.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, excavators, backhoes, and related heavy machinery.
Proven experience in construction site operations or industrial environments involving heavy equipment.
Ability to perform rigging tasks safely and effectively.
Knowledge of materials handling techniques in warehouse or shipping contexts.
Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred.
Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA regulations for crane operation and construction work.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment including forklifts and warehouse machinery confidently.

Requirements

Previous crane operating experience required.
NCCCO certification required.
OSHA rigging and signaling training required.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
