Position Overview

KNS has an opening for a mid-career operational estimator in our growing team. You will be part of our rapidly growing nuclear market, which includes civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines. This role will support quantity takeoffs, estimating, schedule support, and change order preparation.

Location

This position is based in Aiken, SC. Daily site attendence is required.

Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and interpret RFPs, specifications, and drawings
Perform tasks related to quantity takeoff, estimating, pricing, and change proposal development
Perform project site walks as needed to support estimating and change proposal scopes
Support preconstruction efforts, to involvement in Class 3/4/5 estimates, and value-engineering efforts

Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input
Participate in the planning process brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years experience in estimating and quantity takeoffs

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Possess strong mathematical and computer skills
Must be able to meet deadlines
Effective oral and written communication skills
Candidates must possess a strong work ethic
Work independently as well as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Must be willing to travel as the job requires
This role will require U.S. citizenship, and ability to pass a background investigation to receive an SRS campus access badge
L or Q clearance is not required for this position

Working Conditions

This position may require working on an active construction site.
