Computer / IT Support Technician

NCITE Solutions Group is seeking a dependable and motivated Computer / IT Support Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technology, working directly with customers, and supporting a variety of computer, network, and business IT environments.

As an IT Support Technician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers, networks, and related technology for our clients. You will work with both remote and on-site systems and will be expected to diagnose problems efficiently, communicate professionally, document your work, and follow established IT best practices.

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable, organized, and willing to continue learning as technology evolves.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows desktops, laptops, and related computer hardware.
Install and configure operating systems, applications, drivers, printers, and peripheral devices.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and user-related technical issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and other network equipment.
Troubleshoot internet, network, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and general connectivity issues.
Assist with Microsoft 365, email, user accounts, permissions, and related cloud services.
Assist with Windows Server, Active Directory, file shares, user accounts, and network resources.
Perform workstation deployments, upgrades, migrations, and replacements.
Apply software updates, security patches, firmware updates, and other routine maintenance.
Assist with endpoint security, antivirus, cybersecurity, backup, and data-protection systems.
Respond to client service requests and troubleshoot issues remotely and on-site.
Escalate advanced technical issues when appropriate and work with senior technicians to reach a resolution.
Clearly document troubleshooting steps, configurations, repairs, and completed work.
Maintain accurate service-ticket records and time entries.
Communicate technical information to customers in a clear, professional, and understandable manner.
Educate users on basic technology use, security awareness, and IT best practices.
Maintain an organized work environment and properly handle client equipment and information.

Qualifications

Previous experience in IT support, computer repair, help desk, field service, or a similar technical role preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Windows computers and common business applications.
Understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and IT components.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN environments, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft business environments is preferred.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity, endpoint protection, data privacy, and IT security best practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a technical team.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple service requests and responsibilities.
Professional communication and customer-service skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to completing work correctly.
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies, systems, and procedures.

Education & Certifications

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant professional experience may be substituted for formal education.

Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or Ubiquiti certifications are a plus.

Technical knowledge is important, but so are reliability, professionalism, communication, and the ability to solve problems.

The right candidate should be comfortable walking into an unfamiliar environment, gathering information, troubleshooting methodically, and determining the appropriate next step. You should also understand when an issue can be resolved independently and when it should be escalated.

Because our technicians work directly with customers and their business systems, we expect team members to represent NCITE professionally and treat client equipment, networks, information, and facilities with care.

Position Requirements

Ability to travel to client locations as required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to perform both remote and on-site technical support.
Ability to lift and move typical computer and networking equipment.
Ability to work independently at customer locations.
Availability for occasional after-hours or emergency support may be required depending on position responsibilities.
