This SkillBridge internship is designed exclusively for transitioning Active Duty Service Members seeking hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Information Technology operations. The intern will support course content validation, assist with technical training operations, and contribute to improving internal processes and documentation. This role provides practical exposure to a professional work environment while developing transferable skills aligned with post-military career paths.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Course Content Review
- Review course materials, including presentation slides, student guides, and lab manuals, to ensure consistency, clarity, and grammatical accuracy
- Evaluate training content for logical flow and alignment with intended learning objectives
- Complete and assess interactive learning activities (e.g., labs and exercises) to validate instructions, accuracy of answers, and appropriate time allocation
Information Technology Support
- Assist with student registration and course enrollment processes
- Support the setup and teardown of course environments and deployments
- Facilitate the transfer of course materials from development to production environments
- Monitor, triage, and respond to internal support requests in a timely and professional manner
Process Documentation & Improvement
- Review existing team documentation to develop an understanding of internal business processes
- Identify gaps or areas for improvement from an external perspective
- Assist in organizing, standardizing, and maintaining documentation under supervision
Required Qualifications:
- Active Duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces approved or eligible for participation in the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program (required)
- Must have command approval to participate in SkillBridge prior to internship start date
- Must be within an approved timeframe for SkillBridge participation (generally within 180 days of separation or retirement)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
- Ability to manage time effectively, follow direction, and work both independently and within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Foundational knowledge or interest in cybersecurity, information technology, intelligence analysis, or mission-focused government support environments
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, basic networking concepts, or system administration fundamentals
- Exposure to structured training environments, technical instruction, or courseware development (e.g., labs, simulations, or student guides)
- Experience working with or supporting documentation in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., DoD, IC, or government contracting)
- Understanding of quality assurance practices, testing methodologies, or process improvement frameworks
- Ability to analyze information, identify inconsistencies, and recommend improvements to technical or operational processes
- Interest in pursuing a post-military career in cleared environments such as cyber operations, systems administration, instructional support, or technical program support
Work Environment & Program Notes:
- This internship is part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program and does not constitute civilian employment during participation
- Participants remain employed and compensated by their respective military branch while assigned to this program
