Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of machinery and equipment in order to maintain the uninterrupted operation of our production processes. Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems are essential in minimizing downtime and optimizing efficiency.
In the event a Maintenance Technician is out, another qualified individual would serve as a backup.

Minimum Qualifications
· High School Diploma, or equivalent, is preferred but not required.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing or maintenance role is required.
· Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
· Ability to add and subtract with basic numbers.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
· Collaborate with other team members, including management, to ensure smooth operations and a timely completion of tasks.
· Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to packaging and food safety regulations.
· Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding hygiene, dress code, and conduct in the workplace.
· Ability to obtain a Forklift Operator’s License.
· Ability to obtain a Lock Out/Tag Out Certification.

Essential Functions
· This position requires a minimum of a 9-hour shift per day to meet production demands. Work hours may vary based on production needs, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, lubricating, and cleaning machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
· Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, low-voltage systems, PLCs, and Pneumatic issues with production equipment and machinery to identify the root causes and implement effective solutions.
· Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, sensors, and Pneumatic cylinders, to minimize downtime and production delays.
· Follow preventative maintenance schedules to perform scheduled inspections, adjustments, and replacements of parts to prevent breakdowns and prolong the equipment’s lifespan.
· Monitor product flow and adjust packaging processes as needed to maintain production efficiency.
· Label containers with accurate product information, including expiration dates and batch numbers.
· Have a clear understanding of safety and food safety protocols and a willingness to follow all safety guidelines.
· Work under the guidance of a Machine Operator to ensure the best quality of work is being performed.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including removing debris and spills and disposing of waste materials properly.
· This position operates in a food manufacturing facility that exclusively processes peanuts. Employees must be able to safely and effectively perform work within this environment while adhering to all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety standards. Exposure to airborne and contact allergens is unavoidable.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and repetitively.
· Must be able to stand and walk on hard-working surfaces for the duration of the shift.
· Must be able to push, pull, stoop, bend over, climb ladders and steps, work overhead, walk, and stand in one place for the duration of the shift.
· Must have good manual dexterity.
Work Environment
· Work in hot or cold areas for the duration of the shift.
· Ability to work with various tools, cleaning supplies, and chemicals.
· Wear appropriate PPE.
· Work in a peanut and tree nut allergen environment, as well as other potential irritants, such as salt, spices, and seasonings.
· Work in an environment with equipment, such as high-speed machinery, forklifts, man lifts, etc.
· Operate hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions accurately.
