Full Job Description

Aya Healthcare has an opportunity for a Video Remote Medical Interpreter to support a 13-week contract assignment with a healthcare facility in Aurora, OR.

Assignment Details:

Start: ASAP
Location: Work will be performed at a support building in Aurora, CO 80014.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with standard breaks.
Pay: $29-32/hour
Type: Contract, Onsite
Length: 13 weeks
Onboarding: 1-2 weeks

SUMMARY OF VIDEO REMOTE MEDICAL INTERPRETER:
The Video Remote Medical Interpreter serves as a communication bridge between patients and healthcare professionals. This role provides accurate, culturally appropriate interpretation through video remote interpretation for individuals who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, ensuring understanding of medical information, treatment plans, and services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work involves providing medical interpretation to patients and care teams via video teleconferencing. It is not in-person within hospitals and clinics.
100% in-office environment.
Fast-paced clinical setting requiring adaptability and responsiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF VIDEO REMOTE MEDICAL INTERPRETER:

Provide real-time video remote interpretation between patients, families, and healthcare providers in the patient's preferred language.
Accurately interpret medical terminology, including anatomy, procedures, and medications.
Support effective communication in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with all patient privacy policies.
Assist with translation of written documents, as needed.
Act as a trusted cultural and linguistic resource for care teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR VIDEO REMOTE MEDICAL INTERPRETER:

High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of a medical interpreter competency assessment (to be administered by the facility).
Completion of 40-hour medical interpreter training program (e.g., "Bridging the Gap").
Minimum of 2 years of medical interpretation experience.
Prior Video Remote Interpretation experience.
Strong bilingual communication skills and fluency in medical terminology.
Proficiency in basic computer and technology use.
Ability to exercise critical thinking and sound judgment in fast-paced environments.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to equity, cultural sensitivity, and patient advocacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) credential.
