Jeffco Public Schools (Jeffco) is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. It is the second largest school district in Colorado serving 69,000 students across 155 schools. ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Jefferson County District Athletics & Activities Office helps to maintain & support 18 high schools that reside in Jefferson County. Annually, the district office oversees high school sports and activities, which includes approximately 12,600 athletic participants in 26 sports and nearly 9,000 student participants in 9 activities in grades 9-12.

The athletic department manages coaching salaries, stadium operations, school membership for CHSAA, All-Conference & league standings, MVP & Hall of Fame banquets, athletic trainers, security for stadium and school athletic events, athletic transportation, officials assigning and payment, and game workers for school and stadium sites.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY: In support of the Athletics and Activities department, perform a variety of duties at events and activities across the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be available to work on a part time, as needed basis with short notice of assignments.

The Game Worker works at district athletic events. Duties include selling tickets, taking tickets, assisting at the press box, scorekeeping, timing of events, announcing, and other duties as assigned by the Game Manager.

OTHER INFORMATION: Employees that are Minors (14+) must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Colorado Youth Employment Opportunity Act (CYEOA) (C.R.S. 8-12-101 et seq.). Some of those rules are outlined below:

No minor under the age of sixteen shall be permitted to work between the hours of nine-thirty p.m. (9:30p.m.) and five a.m. (5:00a.m.), unless the next day is not a school day.

On school days, during school hours, no minor under the age of sixteen shall be permitted employment except as provided by a school release permit. After school hours no minor under the age of sixteen shall be permitted to work in excess of six hours unless the next day is not a school day.

Errors in decision making could affect co-workers, employing department, and District liability, leading to embarrassment or cost to the District.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS: Daily contact with administrative and classified staff within/outside of department to discuss internal matters, resolve routine corrections/adjustments, and maintain relationships.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
