East Aurora School District 131 has the following opening(s) for the 2026-2027 school

year and will accept applications from candidates who may be interested in the position(s)

listed below. Medical, dental, vision, and term life insurance policies are available.

VACANCY NOTICE

POSITION TITLE: Clerical Assistant

BUILDING(S): Johnson Elementary School

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-1/3 months. Monday-Friday: 8 hours/day.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal or Designee

EVALUATION PROCEDURES: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

SALARY: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. See page

3 of the posting for salary schedule

START DATE: August 10, 2026

JOB ID: 5070

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of computers and software programs (specifically MS Office suite).
3. Accurate data entry skills (knowledge of Synergy and Skyward preferred).
4. Excellent organizational skills.
5. Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
6. Ability to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse public.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain student cumulative files.
a. File registration forms, test scores, pictures, and any other records in

cumulative files.

b. Make cumulative files for incoming new children to district, assign ID
numbers, and request records from previous schools.

c. Copy cumulative records for children moving out of district and send out
cumulative files for children moving in district.

d. Close out 5th grade folders.
2. Enter and maintain student demographics.
3. Enter and maintain student attendance records (includes collecting attendance

from teachers on a daily basis and reconciling absences or tardies as needed).

4. Maintain log of absent students.
5. Call parents/guardians of absent students if no call already made to school.
6. Contact truancy officer if necessary.
7. Register and/or drop students throughout school year.
8. Prepare and package 5th grade folders to be delivered to middle schools.
9. Greet visitors and students, provide appropriate information and assistance, or

refer to appropriate staff.

10. Answer incoming telephone calls, provide appropriate information or take
message and refer to appropriate staff.

11. Safeguard confidential information as specified in the Illinois School Code.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
