Full Job Description

Job Title: Concrete Estimator

Job Location: Sandwich, IL
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Type: [Full-Time / Salary] In-Office Only

Job Focus: Commercial/Multi-Family Foundations & Flatwork, Walks, Paving, Curbs

Position Overview:

The Concrete Estimator will be responsible for providing precise and comprehensive cost estimates for concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Concrete Estimator Responsibilities:

Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members. Frequently make contact with current/potential clients to discuss past/current/upcoming projects.
Blueprint Review: Analyze blueprints, plans, and project specifications to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
Quantity Takeoff: Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete volumes, formwork, reinforcing, and finishing materials to calculate material needs.
Cost Estimation: Develop accurate estimates for concrete construction projects, including labor, materials, & equipment using estimating software.
Vendor Coordination: Work closely with vendors and suppliers to obtain material pricing and evaluate the best options for materials and services.
Proposal Preparation: Prepare and submit detailed, competitive proposals for projects in alignment with client specifications and project scope.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the course of the project, from logistics and scheduling conflicts to technical challenges on-site.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction cost estimation, with a focus on concrete projects.
Experience in understanding concrete formwork, reinforcement, and finishes is required.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of construction estimating software (e.g., Planswift, Buildertrend, FieldWire, or similar).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the course of the project, from logistics and scheduling conflicts to technical challenges on-site.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
