As a Social Media Intern, you will help showcase the heart of NuMark Credit Union by creating meaningful digital content that connects with our members and communities. You will amplify their stories, strengthen engagement, and play a key role in bringing our mission and values to life online.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who enjoys creating engaging digital content, stays current on social media trends, and is eager to gain hands-on experience supporting the marketing efforts of a community-focused financial institution. Applicants should be prepared to submit a portfolio of relevant work and a letter of recommendation from a current or former professor.
This is a temporary, full-time 10-week internship with the potential to be considered for future full-time employment opportunities based on performance and business needs. This position follows a hybrid work arrangement, with a combination of remote work from home and in-person work at our Warrenville Branch. The first week of the internship will be conducted entirely in person at the Warrenville Branch to support onboarding and training.

Create engaging social media content including posts, graphics, stories, photography, and short-form videos tailored to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.

Create and edit short-form video content, including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging social media formats that support member engagement and brand awareness.

Assist in writing captions that reflect NuMark's voice, mission, and compliance standards

Support planning, scheduling, and publishing content using Hootsuite

Notify the Marketing Manager when member inquiries or direct messages require follow-up

Identify opportunities for positive engagement and member storytelling

Support marketing campaigns promoting products such as loans, checking accounts, digital banking, financial education, and youth programs

Contribute to developing strategies that grow audience engagement

Assist in coordinating social media assets for events, seminars, sponsorships, and community initiatives

Track performance metrics including reach, engagement, clicks, and follower growth

Prepare monthly social media performance reports

Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends

Brainstorm new content ideas aligned with NuMark's values of trust, community, and financial well-being

Capture and edit photography and short-form video content at branch events, community activities, seminars, and sponsorships.

Maintain content calendars and help organize digital asset libraries

Stay current on social media trends relevant to member engagement and community building

Pursuing a college degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field

Understanding of trends and platform-specific best practices for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube

Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, or InDesign

Basic photography and videography skills

Photo and video editing experience

Strong written communication skills

Experience with analytics tools such as Meta Insights or Google Analytics preferred

Must provide a portfolio showcasing relevant social media, graphic design, photography, videography, or other digital content work
