Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher to join our dynamic food service team. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will support food preparation, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to the overall cleanliness of our establishment. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable kitchen skills within a professional hospitality setting.

Duties

Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with sanitation procedures.
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients.
Support the bussing process by clearing tables promptly and efficiently to maintain a clean dining environment.
Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, trays, and supplies safely while adhering to proper ergonomic practices.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work surfaces regularly.
Assist in the organization and storage of clean items in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff.
Operate various kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools.
Support sanitation efforts by disposing of waste properly and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Requirements

Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; familiarity with kitchen operations is advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards required for safe food handling.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
Basic knife skills and understanding of food preparation techniques are beneficial.
Experience operating commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment is desirable.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards necessary for maintaining a safe workspace.
Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory.
A proactive approach to learning new skills within the hospitality industry is encouraged.
