Description

The GIS Analyst empowers critical decision-making across the organization by leveraging the latest data & spatial analysis techniques, vivid cartography and a sound understanding of industry standards for developing, managing, and supporting web-based GIS solutions.

Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples of Duties

Performs spatial analysis on geographic data by using geoprocessing tools and techniques to help decision-makers gain meaningful insight; employs cartographic skills to produce visually pleasing maps, charts, and presentations for high-level decision support.
Leads and supports GIS projects with GIS team, works with end-users to help optimize and improve their workflows; identifies system integration opportunities and defines integration and implementation parameters.
Assists in the maintenance and administration of enterprise-level GIS components; Enterprise Geodatabase, ArcGIS Enterprise, and its integrations. Evaluates current geospatial technologies and develop web-based interactive mapping solutions.
Works closely with the IT department and other departments to ensure scalable and robust system operation. Provide guidance and training to end-users; implements/adhere to AQ/QC procedures and ensure various departments' geospatial needs are being met.

Experience and Training

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Engineering or a related field.
Additional work experience may substitute for bachelor's degree on a year to year basis.
Two (2) year or more of experience as a GIS Analyst or in a similar position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

Valid Class C Driver's license.
