Full Job Description

We are an established immigration law firm located in Austin, Texas. Our office is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to work in the areas of both family based immigration and removal defense cases. Our work environment is very demanding, fast-paced, and high volume. Candidates must be organized, have great customer service, communication skills, be a fast-learner, be self-motivated, and show initiative. MUST also be bilingual in both Spanish and English.

The full-time position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Compensation is depending on experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Be experienced with USCIS, EOIR, and NVC procedures, interview and communicate with clients, prepare applications and packets, prepare routine correspondence, answer phone calls, and calendar appointments. In addition, the legal assistant will be expected to:

draft and review routine legal documents
communicate verbally and in writing with outside organizations, such as government agencies and other law firms to gather information and data
utilize, create or establish procedures to be able to organize, coordinate, and retrieve documents
research immigration law and procedures, and case management
perform various administrative tasks as required
perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Have prior experience in either family based immigration or removal defense. High school diploma or equivalent We will train the qualified candidate on procedures specific to the firm.
