Zimmer Design and Manufacturing is a small, but quickly growing, shop in Leander, TX. We are starting to build a new culture that is not commonly seen in shops today. We are striving to be a completley paperless, tech driven, lean shop. This not only improves the quality of customers we do work for, but improves the quality of life of our employees. We are not looking for the best set of skills in the area, rather we are looking to hire good attitude and work ethic.

Since starting in the garage in 2021, we have grown to 12 employees in 8000 sqft. We are seeing fast and stable growth in the semi conductor, firearms, and data center sectors. After becoming ITAR registered and acquiring our FFL07 in 2023, we became AS9100 and ISO certified in 2024. This will require us to continue to invest in the latest and greatest multiaxis hardware and software and continue to train our team and continually improve our culture. Zimmer Design and Manufacturing will be a place where your opinions and ideas are heard and pursued.

Our company is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, a natural talent for strategy, and appreciates the unique challenges of working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Use Haas and Okuma Mills and lathes to cut metal to specifications.
Use Mastercam 2026 to Program your own parts.
Use 5th axis, orange, and kurt workholding or design custom zero point fixtures.
Maintain a clean work area and maintain your own machines.
Clock into work orders and complete jobs on time using ProShop ERP.
Enter your measured values into digital inspection sheets using ProShop ERP.
Record setup instructions into ProShop ERP.
Train and teach new machinist.
Work well with others and adapt/improve our company culture.
Strive for maximum spindle time and start to adapt automation.
Work 40-50 hours per week, flexible schedule

If hired, you will have your own dual monitor work station with the latest software and hardware at your finger tips. This is a 8000 SQFT climate controlled ship that is cleaned regularly and using clean, filtered coolant. There is limitless room for growth at this company and we are expecting to train everyone to their fullest potential.
