Rick Shipman Construction is currently seeking Full-Time Concrete Finishers. Our office is located in Dexter, MO. The applicant must possess a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.
We need hard-working individuals who are capable of physical labor who enjoy a fast-paced outdoor environment. Candidates need to be willing to take instruction and seek to learn and advance.
Job Responsibilities
Communicate:
Attend and participate in meetings on and off-site as required.
Keep lines of communication open and consistent, ensuring that conversations are always professional and concise.
Maintain at all times a positive work environment. Report all hostile, inappropriate, and disruptive behavior to the superintendent, HR Manager, and or Project Manager.
Skills and knowledge:
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, tools, materials, and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
Ability to manage several tasks at once and exercise independent judgment related to the daily administration of projects.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Expectations:
Ability to work nights or days as required.
Be productive on job sites. If you have completed an assigned task, ask to be given another. If the superintendent is busy, use the time well by cleaning, organizing, etc.
You must abide by the safety practices of this company and adhere to them.
Have the ability to read blueprints, drawings, specs, and sketches and to fully grasp their requirements.
Accuracy taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed for a project.
Maintain a clean job site. Pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Setting grade and installing rebar.
Install anchor bolts, steel plate embeds, and other fixtures into freshly poured concrete.
Set and place forms to proper elevations and location. Prepare the base and install proper reinforcing.
Spread, Level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, float, and hand/power trowel and/or screed.
Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long-handled "bull float", powered float, and/or riding trowel machines.
Be willing to help in all capacities to ensure the company is successful and runs smoothly with a pleasant work environment.
Be well organized with attention to detail.
Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking, as well as the layout and saw cut joints with an early entry saw.

Conditions of Employment:

Starting pay $25.00-$32.00 per hour depending upon experience
