Professional Qualifications

Postpartum doulas introduced through Matron of Familyhood operate as independent professionals.
They:

Maintain control over their schedules, scope of services, and professional practices • Share preferred rate ranges and availability during the vetting process • Enter into service agreements directly with families under mutually agreed terms
Families pay Matron of Familyhood a separate placement fee for screening and introductions. Compensation for doula services is negotiated and paid directly between the doula and the family.
Independent professionals are responsible for their own tax reporting, insurance coverage, and business compliance.

Trial Engagements
In some cases, families and doulas may begin with a short-term engagement before entering into a longer postpartum agreement.
