Company Description: DataLog Geological Services is a leading provider of geological services in the oil and gas industry. Our operations are heavily based in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. We do not provide relocation assistance.
Job Description: As a mud logger, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing drilling data in real-time to identify geological formations, detect hydrocarbon presence, and provide accurate reports to our clients. This role involves working closely with drilling personnel and geologists to ensure smooth drilling operations and timely decision-making. Recent Geology graduates and ex military are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Confirm dispatch from supervisor and drive to location timely.
- Collect, process, and analyze drilling cuttings in mud samples.
- Monitor drilling parameters and identify geological formations.
- Detect and report hydrocarbon shows and other drilling hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
- Communicate effectively with drilling crews and geologists.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work long hours and irregular shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness and ability to work in remote locations.
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must be able to pass drug test
Preferred:
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
