This position is eligible for relocation assistance (with a 24-month commitment) and a 6K signing bonus (with a 12-month commitment).
Annual salary will reflect $81,004.33 - 108,553.55 annually ($38.94 - $52.18 per hour) depending upon years of service.

The city of Goodyear is looking for an Employee Wellness Officer to join Team Goodyear. The position requires the individual to highly motivated, willing to work both individually, and within a team environment often with little supervision.
The Team Services Unit is dedicated to supporting Department employees and their families during times of crisis, hardship, and need. The primary purpose of the Unit is to care for our police family, both sworn and professional staff, by promoting the physical, emotional, psychological, and overall well-being of all Department employees.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and compassionately with police survivors and families during tragic circumstances. Candidates must also possess strong organizational skills, be willing to participate in callout and standby responsibilities, work well with minimal supervision, and consistently demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
This position will serve as the program coordinator for the CISM/Peer Support Team. Preferred candidates should have completed a CISM/Peer Support certification course and the AZPOST General Instructor Certification course.
After successful completion of the Goodyear Police Department Field Training Program, the selected candidate will be assigned to the Team Services Unit as an Employee Wellness Officer.
The IDEAL candidate will possess the following:

QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum qualifications for an Employee Wellness Officer are:

The Goodyear Police Department defines an In-State Lateral Police Officer as officers who have successfully completed an Arizona law enforcement academy and who currently possess an active Arizona police certification in good standing.
LATERAL POLICE OFFICER PROCESSING PROCEDURES:

Step 2: ORAL BOARD INTERVIEW
In-State Laterals: All candidates who reside within the State of Arizona will be required to interview IN PERSON at the PD Administration Building
Most qualified applicants will participate in an interview conducted by a panel comprised of officers and employees of the Goodyear Police Department.
During this stage, applicants will be evaluated on:

Training, instructional, or facilitation experience relevant to serving as an Employee Wellness Officer

Knowledge of or experience with Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), peer support, employee wellness, and crisis response
Applicants who successfully pass this step will move forward to Step 3 of the process.
Step 3: Work with Background Investigator
Applicants will work with a background investigator to complete the following steps 3 through step 4.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
After successful completion of the oral board interview, applicants continuing in the process will be given a background packet to initiate the extensive background investigation.
POLYGRAPH EXAMINATION
Applicants will be given a polygraph examination administered by a qualified, state licensed police polygraph examiner. The examination will cover criminal activity, drug usage, truthfulness, integrity and employment history.
PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION
- In-state laterals are exempt from taking completing a psychological evaluation
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCREENING AND MEDICAL EVALUATION
Applicants will be required to submit to a controlled substance screening and medical examination.
CHIEF INTERVIEW
All applicants will have a one-on-one interview with the Police Chief.
Step 4: FIREARMS QUALIFICATIONS
All lateral applicants will be required to demonstrate firearms proficiency by successfully passing the AZPOST daylight qualification course of fire.
PHYSICAL AGILITY EVALUATION
- In-state laterals are exempt from taking the POPAT
