Purpose: Test or modify developmental or operational mechatronic hardware and software. Test experimental models, integral components, prototypes to support the research, development of company products. Prepares test reports for evaluation. Tracks and explains testing incidentals and assists in formulating standards by addressing malfunctions, breakdowns, or failures.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
- Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment
- Records, interprets, and analyzes test data
- Collaborates with others to maintain repeatability of testing
- Sets up standard and special purpose bench equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment
- Sets up mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical equipment to test specifications. This includes but is not limited to:
- o PLC/controller installation, programming, and maintenance

o Integrating various input and output devices with the PLC/controller

o Microcontroller specification, programming, implementation, and integration with PLC systems
- Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects
- Assists in assembly, manufacture or fabrication as needed
- Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry
- Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment
- Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations
- Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment
- Build wire harnesses as necessary from an electrical schematic. Create harness routing on drivetrain and vehicles as necessary to complete testing
- Perform root cause analysis and provide corrective action alternatives to engineering
- Collaborate with engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems
- Diagnose CAN bus, power, ground, and signal integrity issues
- Maintain inventory of wire, connectors, terminals, harness covering
- Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives
- Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Job Requirement
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Two-year post-secondary education
- Level I: zero to three years related experience and/or training;
- Level II: minimum of three years related experience and/or training;
- Level III: minimum of 6 years related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Level I: possesses beginning to working knowledge of position requirements and subject matter; Level II: expected to handle moderately complex issues/problems, possesses solid working knowledge of position requirements and subject matter
- Level III: expected to handle most complex issues/problems and possesses a comprehensive, skilled knowledge of position and subject matter.
- Level III: must have ability to train, mentor, and coach less experienced staff.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to use CAN bus tools, CANape is preferred.
- Ability to use a multimeter, oscilloscope and thermal measurement tools.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for up to 75% of shift.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to safely operate: hand and power tools, Hydraulic, Internal Combustion & Electric Motors, and personal computer.
- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply basic algebraic and geometric formulas as outlined in test procedures.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
