PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to greet people as they come in the office and answering telephone calls; assisting with various applications or directing them to the appropriate personnel to assist them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Learns functions in the office and the process of day to day activities under guidance from supervisor and other office personnel.
Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, and the public as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs customer service functions, provides information and assistance with guidance from the supervisor and other office personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level work or vocational training in property appraisal and tax assessment; supplemented by (1) year previous experience and/or training involving tax assessment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word and/or Excel programs. Must attend courses outlined by the Department of Revenue and Acquire a valid Appraiser I certification within (12) months of hire. Must continue to attend courses and maintain Appraiser I certification.

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational actions.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Material Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver, and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and material up to 25 pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods of time a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks may require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
