Full Job Description

Real Care Assisted Living is seeking a compassionate, organized, and resourceful Assistant RCFE Administrator / Resident Services Coordinator to assist the Administrator with the daily operations of our community and provide hands-on support to our residents.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in assisted living, social services, case management, Medi-Cal, SSI/Social Security, or senior services who enjoys solving problems and advocating for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the RCFE Administrator with the daily operations of the community.
Serve as a resident advocate and help residents navigate social-service and benefit-related issues.
Assist residents and families with Medi-Cal applications, renewals, redeterminations, and documentation.
Help residents address Social Security and SSI issues, including communicating with Social Security offices, representatives, families, and authorized agencies as appropriate.
Assist eligible residents with obtaining and maintaining the appropriate SSI Non-Medical Out-of-Home Care (NMOHC)/board-and-care rate and related documentation.
Follow up on missing, expired, or incomplete Medi-Cal and benefit documentation to help prevent interruptions in resident eligibility.
Coordinate with residents, families, responsible parties, social workers, case managers, hospitals, health plans, and community agencies.
Assist residents and families in completing forms, gathering required documents, making appointments, and following up with government and community agencies.
Maintain organized records and track pending applications, renewals, authorizations, and resident benefit issues until resolved.
Assist with resident admissions, assessments, documentation, and move-in coordination.
Help resolve resident and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Assist with billing, collections, resident accounts, and administrative follow-up as assigned.
Support communication and coordination among residents, families, staff, healthcare providers, and outside agencies.
Assist the Administrator with documentation, resident services, and other operational needs.
Help ensure compliance with California RCFE regulations, facility policies, and resident rights.
Perform other administrative and operational duties necessary to support the Administrator and the successful operation of the community.

Qualifications

Experience in an RCFE, assisted living, senior living, social services, case management, healthcare, or related field preferred.
Knowledge of Medi-Cal, Social Security/SSI, senior benefits, and community resources strongly preferred.
RCFE Administrator Certification is preferred for the right candidate.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Comfortable communicating with government agencies, healthcare organizations, residents, and families.
Able to handle multiple resident cases and follow each issue through to resolution.
Strong computer, documentation, telephone, and communication skills.
Compassionate, patient, professional, and genuinely interested in helping seniors.

This position requires more than completing paperwork. We need someone who will advocate for residents, make calls, follow up, coordinate with agencies and families, and stay involved until an issue is addressed.

You will work closely with the RCFE Administrator and play an important role in ensuring that our residents receive the services, benefits, support, and attention they need.
