**Join Our Team as a Conflicts/New Matters Clerk!**

Established in 1899, The Law Offices of Borton Petrini, LLP boasts over 120 years of providing exceptional legal services across California. As a premier leader in California law, our firm is comprised of dedicated legal professionals committed to delivering unparalleled results for our clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced Conflicts/New Matters Clerk to join our Bakersfield office. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

One year of experience in the legal field is preferred but not required.
Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Adobe Acrobat, and other legal software and technology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact well with colleagues at all levels with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Ability to work independent and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Must be responsible for completing tasks and following through with the resolution of issues; including the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
A typing certificate of 55 wpm is required.

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive conflict checks for new clients and matters, using both internal and external resources prior to the opening of a new matter within the Firm's conflict check software.
Verify that client and matter information is correct and complete when submitted.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of client and matter information to provide 'hits' within the Firm's conflict check software for review and approval.
Compile and filter the information obtained during searches.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date conflicts records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures.
Maintain and update the client and matter information in the computer system.
Handle closing matters and maintain appropriate records of closed legal files.

Benefits

Pay range: $22.00-$24.00/hour
