I am looking for one exceptional individual to become a long-term caregiver, driver, and personal assistant. This is a stable IHSS position for someone who values reliability, professionalism, consistency, and taking pride in doing their work correctly.
This role requires someone who understands that quality caregiving is built on trust, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established routines. The right person will appreciate clear expectations and take responsibility for completing tasks accurately without needing constant supervision.
About the Position
I am a C3 ASIA C quadriplegic following cervical fusion surgery and require assistance with daily living, medical appointments, and maintaining independence.
The primary focus of this position is transportation, which makes up approximately 80% of the job. You will be responsible for dependable transportation to medical appointments, therapy, and necessary errands.
A reliable, clean, well-maintained vehicle capable of transporting a wheelchair is required.
Aquatic therapy is also an important part of this position. The caregiver must be comfortable entering the pool and providing assistance during scheduled aquatic therapy sessions.
Responsibilities
- Drive to and from medical appointments, therapy, and required errands
- Assist with scheduled aquatic therapy sessions, including entering the pool and providing in-water assistance.
- Accompany and assist during appointments when needed
- Assist with wheelchair mobility and transfers
- Provide personal care support as needed, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with meals, preparation, and feeding when required
- Provide medication reminders
- Complete grocery shopping and essential errands
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry
- Support daily routines and ongoing recovery needs
- Complete other IHSS-approved tasks as needed

Requirements
- IHSS-approved provider or able to become approved quickly
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving history
- Reliable vehicle capable of wheelchair transportation
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers
- Must be able to swim and safely enter the pool to assist with scheduled aquatic therapy sessions
- Lives in or near the 93314 area
Work Standards
- No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Limit personal phone use while on duty
- Respect confidentiality and privacy
- No personal distractions while providing care
Compensation
- IHSS-paid position
- Approximately 147 hours per month
- Approximately 37 hours per week
- Long-term, consistent schedule
