Job Summary:
Responsible for the finance and accounting operations of the Sitos Group, including subsidiaries and related Sitos plant entities. Currently, these entities include Sitos Group LLC, Terra Preta LLC, Sitos Monterey Plant 1 LLC and Sitos Treehouse Plant LLC. Sitos is a startup organization establishing a biochar manufacturing footprint opening its first full-scale manufacturing plant in Delano, California with a focus on agricultural application and the rapidly expanding environmental carbon removal credit market. Responsibilities include the timely production of periodic financial statements, maintenance of accounting systems, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, ensure the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Finance Manager will report to the President / Chief Financial Officer of the Sitos Group.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Build and lead an accounting team as business grows. Collaborate with other department leads to monitor and make recommendations.
Essential Functions:
- Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by establishing and implementing accounting policies and procedures and internal controls across all finance and accounting functions.
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and cost accounting, fixed asset records, general ledger and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP and provide to management in a timely manner.
- Prepare annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and financial analysis consistent with organizational goals.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, capital expenditures, and product development cost when necessary.
- Interface with outside audit firms, tax preparers, banks, liability insurance agents, and regulatory agencies. Prepare and provide required documentation as needed.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, reward and recognition, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
1. Minimum Education Required | License | Certification Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or related field
- Valid CA Drivers License with good driving record
2. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in agriculture/manufacturing business
- Bilingual / Biliterate English/Spanish a plus-not required
3. Experience:
- 5+ years of equivalent accounting business experience in a manufacturing business with supervisory responsibility.
4. Skills, Ability, and Knowledge:
- This position requires excellent verbal, and written communication skills to gather and convey information effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to efficiently plan, organize and delegate responsibilities for business efficiency.
- Knowledge of agriculture business and business management principles.
- Proficient computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to use office equipment such as computer, 10key, fax, and copy machine
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic, demonstrates good common sense and sound judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of file contents
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers

5. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to a maximum of 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, bend, and stoop
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, grasp, hold, handle items, and work with fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
- Clear vision (close and distant), peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
