WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the Buildings and Grounds team. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in performing routine inspections; pipe fitting, plumbing, insulating, painting, carpentry, installing aligning, and balancing new equipment. Also, will be expected to assist with repairing buildings, landscaping, floors, toilets, urinals, fences, electric gates, roll up doors, loading dock ramps and any other aspects of building maintenance that mechanics and groundskeepers may need assistance with. Will also need to receive chemical loads and fire systems maintenance and fill out paperwork and communicate effectively with outside venders as the needs arise for these duties.

Repair or replace defective equipment parts as needed

Receive Chemical loads and help with fire systems inspection and calls for service

Help ensure that buildings and grounds are cleaned and in QC compliance

Assist with repairs to buildings and facilities Plumbing, landscape, carpentry, painting and general cleanup

Maintain logs as required for fire systems and chemical loads received

Help with keeping the shop clean and inspection ready
-
Maintain equipment and vehicles clean
-
Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Skills and Abilities:
-
Capable of reading and understanding standard operating procedures and parts manuals
-
Have basic mechanical skills and knowledge
-
Work with minimum to no supervision
-
Good verbal and written communication skills
-
Must have a safety driven focus while working
-
Great attention to detail of task being performed
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED; plus, one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
1-year experience in an industrial ground keep position or related field
-
Mechanically inclined
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-
Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° or above).
-
Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below).

Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.

Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
-
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis when assigned to perform work duties in area.

Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle scanning objects in one position or in a repetitive motion for an extended period.

Ability to stand for long period of time
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
Shift 1 - Sunday through Thursday; 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
