Tax Manager | Hybrid

Rockwall, Texas

$125,000 to $150,000

A genuine path to Partner

Most Tax Managers have heard the Partner conversation before.

They are told they are on the right track or that an opportunity may open in the future. What is often missing is any real detail around expectations, timing, equity, or what they need to achieve.

This independent CPA firm in Rockwall is taking a more open approach.

The firm is hiring a Tax Manager as part of its long term succession plans. The route toward Partner and equity will be discussed from the beginning, with direct involvement from the owner and clear visibility into the future of the practice.

This is not an immediate promise of Partnership. It is a genuine opportunity to understand what the path involves and build toward it through strong client relationships, leadership, judgment, and long term contribution.

You will work directly with the owner and gain real exposure to how the firm operates.

You will take responsibility for important client relationships and become involved in planning and advisory work throughout the year.

You will help develop the team and influence how work is delivered.

You will gain insight into the commercial and operational side of the practice, not only the technical work.

You will have hybrid flexibility built around trust, performance, and responsibility.

Most importantly, you will understand what your work is building toward.

The work

The firm has an established and loyal client base, with a strong focus on advisory work and year round relationships.

You will work across individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and trusts.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing complex tax work across a range of clients and entities

Managing workflow, deadlines, quality, and client service

Leading and strengthening client relationships

Supporting tax planning and advisory work

Coaching staff and helping them progress

Working with the owner on complex matters and wider firm priorities

Building toward broader leadership responsibilities, Partnership, and future equity

What the firm is looking for

You will need strong public accounting tax experience at Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level.

You should be confident reviewing complex returns, managing workflow, developing people, and working directly with clients.

The firm is looking for someone who enjoys advisory work, values long term relationships, and wants to become involved in the wider running of a practice.

CPA or EA credentials are preferred.
