Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for managing all kitchen operations within a convenience store, including food preparation, inventory control, staff supervision, food safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position ensures efficient kitchen performance while maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Supervise all kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and food production to ensure timely service and high-quality output
Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices
Oversee food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area
Train, develop, and mentor kitchen staff on food handling, culinary techniques, POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS, and customer service excellence
Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet restaurant demands during peak hours
Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems and perform cash handling duties with integrity
Conduct regular staff meetings to promote teamwork, communicate expectations, and support ongoing training & development initiatives

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or food service training preferred.
Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or convenience store operations.
Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Food Handler's Permit and/or ServSafe Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
