Full Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Update and revise drawings based on engineer redlines and real-time feedback from engineering and manufacturing teams
Collaborate across multiple project teams in a fast-paced, changing environment
Review drawings for technical accuracy and completeness
Create 3D part and assembly models in SolidWorks
Produce layout and detailed drawings, including GD&T, for simple to moderately complex designs
Design basic parts and assemblies with a focus on manufacturability and ease of assembly
Develop mechanical system drawings using SolidWorks drafting tools
Select off-the-shelf components (mechanical/electrical) as needed
Ensure designs meet quality standards and customer requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

7–10 years of CAD design experience
Associate’s degree in drafting/design or equivalent experience
Strong SolidWorks experience (modeling, routing, sheet metal, weldments, PDM)
Understanding of GD&T and ANSI drafting standards
Experience with manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal, welding)
Strong mechanical design background
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work with engineers, managers, vendors, and customers to solve technical issues
Must be able to obtain security clearance and pass a drug test

PREFERRED

SolidWorks Advanced Parts and Assemblies certification
Familiarity with military standards
