Divine Light Behavioral Health is professional, inclusive, supportive and our goal is to provide substance use treatment and mental health services in an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization settings in Maryland, Philadelphia, and Georgia. Directs the medical department, acts as a subject matter expert, and provides executive level advice and guidance on behavioral health functions and overall business operations. Provides clinical leadership within the medical department. Designs, develops, and oversees the medical program and collaborates with providers, external agencies, community partners, and internal departments on the integration of behavioral health components to support addressing the whole person's care needs. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the professional medical community, and maintains and enhances communications with similar Health Plan organizations. Participates in all aspects of regulatory compliance related to medical functions. Directs, manages and supervises medical department staff. Performs other duties as assigned

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Reports to the Executive Director or designee.

2. Supervises all medical personnel assigned to department.

3. Provides on-site and telephone availability to all medical personnel.

4. Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis

5. Provides coverage schedule determined by the Executive Director.

6. Provides primary medical care to the patients in the residential facility.

7. Reviews and approves all medications and prescriptions prescribed to patients in the program.

8. Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing

9. Performs a complete medical evaluation of each new admission and documents findings.

10. Performs follow up medical evaluations as necessary and determines if the patient's medical needs exceed the capacity of the residential facility.

11. Orders, interprets, and documents drug screening, as appropriate.

12. Orders, interprets, and documents multiple screening tests, as appropriate.

13. Documents all orders for services to be provided to patients.

14. Assures that all medical interventions are documented in the clinical record.

15. Assures that medical follow up of acute and chronic conditions are documented in the patient's treatment plan.

16. Attends Treatment Team meetings as available.

17. Serves on committees as assigned by the Executive Director.

18. Performs other duties as mutually agreed upon by the Executive Director.

Equipment and Working Conditions

All materials and equipment necessary to perform job function are provided. Staff members can be transferred if it has been decided it is in the best interest of the agency and will enhance services provided.

Required Knowledge, Skill and Ability

· Extensive experience in senior healthcare role.

· At least 5 years of experience in a clinical setting.

· Proficiency in medical data analysis and reporting.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal and communication skills.

· Expertise in healthcare regulations and compliance.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Advanced knowledge of medical best practices and standards.

· Familiarity with healthcare information systems and technology.

· Strong understanding of medical operations and patient care standards.

· Proven track record of effective team management and leadership.

· Ability to mentor and develop team members.

· Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Education /Training:

1. Holds a current, unrestricted Georgia medical license, including current DEA registrations.

2. Is a current Georgia Medicaid and Medicare Provider.

2. Is a diplomate of one of the certifying boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties or one of the certifying boards of the American Osteopathic Association in a medical specialty related to services provided by the residential substance abuse facility.

3. Is experienced in addiction medicine and/or certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Experience:

Five (5) years in aggressively responsible and varied program management, or multi-site or multi-program management, in a public or private organization, including experience in human resource management, budgeting and/or non-profit management.
