Assistant Director, Recreation & ESports
Summary:
The Assistant Director of Recreation & ESports is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a highly competitive collegiate Esports program. This includes aiding in the recruitment of student athletes, monitoring student-athlete academic performance, monitoring the program budget, managing a staff of five part-time coaches, making sure the two playing spaces are properly functioning, and that the programs are run in compliance with the appropriate collegiate Esports leagues. This position will also aid the Interim Director in all facets of running the Club Sports program. The Assistant Director will be responsible for relaunching a Fitness Class program on campus open to faculty, staff, and students.
Department: Athletics: Intramural/Club Sports
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree plus Collegiate level competition and/or administrative experience with a commitment to Division III philosophy and experience with collegiate Club Sports or Esports leagues or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver license with good driving record: must be insurable.

Evening and weekend hours are a requirement of this position.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Position involves both inside sedentary and work on different playing surfaces while supervising coaches and student-athletes. Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather, with travel between campuses necessary. Lifting required (i.e., set-up of scorer's table, etc.), some manual labor is expected. Because of the location of athletic facilities on each campus, organizing and some transportation between campuses is expected.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all aspects of a competitive collegiate ESports program.

Oversee and supervise the part-time Head Coaches in the Esports program.

Implement and maintain a quality recruiting program that serves the coaching staff of Stevenson University on both campuses.

Additional responsibilities within Esports to include recruitment and supervision of paid coaches, scheduling, counseling, equipment inventory, office work, budget preparation, working with sports information staff, public relations staff, student services personnel, and athletics staff to ensure quality programs.

Travel with the Esports program to LAN events and work nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.

Develop team policies and procedures for student-athletes and part-time coaches.

Develop strategies to foster athletic and academic progress of student-athletes.

Work within the Arms and Teamworks Hub software to track recruits, compliance, team, and recruit communications.

Perform marketing or public relations duties to promote the program.

Work with the Equipment Manager to help maintain and care for uniforms and equipment.

Work with Institutional Advancement to aid in team fundraising initiatives.

Promote and participate in community service activities to build the connection between our teams and the community.

Assist the Interim Director of Recreation & Club Sports with all facets of the Club Sports program; athletic training, budgeting, compliance, equipment, fundraising, recruiting, scheduling, sports information, and transportation.

Work Club Sports Game Day Admin Coverage as needed.

Relaunch and oversee a Fitness Class program on-campus open to faculty, staff, and students.

Serve on committees as assigned.
