Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager for the Meat Department to join our retail team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the meat section, providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and leading a team of staff members. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive knowledge of meat products, and a passion for retail sales. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the meat department, including stocking, merchandising, and ensuring product freshness and quality.
Lead and supervise department staff, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team.
Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, ordering, and purchasing to minimize waste and optimize sales.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and proper handling procedures.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within a grocery or specialty meat store.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively across shifts.
Extensive knowledge of meat products, inventory management systems, POS operations, and retail math.
Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
Ability to multitask efficiently with excellent organizational skills and time management capabilities.
Experience with marketing initiatives and promotional activities within a retail setting.

Pay: $17.36 - $25.00 per hour
