What’s a Clinical Administrative Assistant?
Ever wanted hands-on clinical experience in the world of healthcare? Clinical Administrative Assistant is a vital, hands-on member of the care team who works directly with patients and providers in clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. This is the fastest, most respected way to gain paid, patient-facing clinical experience before medical, nursing, or PA school: you’ll log hundreds of hours of direct patient contact, master clinical skills that admissions committees love, build strong letters of recommendation from physicians and nurses who work with you daily, and discover firsthand whether the clinical side of healthcare is your calling.

What You’ll Do

Maintain efficient patient flow
Ensures proper preparations for patient visit
Prepare pertinent information needed for patient visits
Schedule appointments
Answers phones, triage phone calls
Communicate between administrative team, clinical staff, and providers diagnostic staff, patient assistant team, security staff, and providers
Provide and explain required forms and paperwork required at check in
Verifie active insurance, in/out of network eligibility, and authorizations
Collect copays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances
Adhere to and explain financial policy to patients as needed
Verifiy, enter, and update patient demographic information
Connect patients with delinquent accounts to patient representatives to set up financial agreements and answer billing questions
Manage physicians' calendars, scheduling meetings
Maintain and update physicians CVs
Assist in monitoring expiration dates related to licensure, certifications, dues, and subscription renewals for assigned faculty
Coordinate business travel arrangements, manage itineraries, registration to conferences, etc
Coordinate and facilitate specialized activities, events, and projects
Initiate purchasing requests for food, supplies, or equipment as needed
Keep management informed of high-risk situations
Maintain HIPPA
Open/close the practice for the day

Where You’ll Work
As an on-site Clinical Administrative Assistant, you could work in a variety of healthcare settings — from doctor’s offices to emergency departments. With over 80 specialties nationwide, we’ll match you to the best fit based on your schedule, interests, and location.

Outpatient (Doctor’s Office): Typically weekday hours (around 8–5, Monday–Friday), with some offices offering evening or weekend shifts. Ideal if you prefer a consistent routine.
Emergency Department: Open 24/7 — there’s always something happening! Great for those who need flexibility or are balancing school and other commitments.

Compensation range:
Our compensation for this position is $17.25 depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

What You’ll Need

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
Proof of vaccinations (may be required)
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Strong listening and communication skills
Flexible schedule availability
Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for several hours a day
Access to a laptop (you’ll be provided one after training but need your own for training)
