We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to support the Sheridan Libraries Finance Office by managing accounting and reconciliation tasks for library materials & collection acquisitions. The role helps ensure accurate financial records, resolves discrepancies, and maintains coordination between Library & University departments.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain system-level reconciliation between ALMA and SAP, including running reports and using tools to compare transactions and fund balances.

Manage specialized payment activity such as foreign wire payments, foreign currency conversions, bank fees, vendor refunds/credits, special shipping charges, and internal cost transfers.

Oversee the weekly ALMA to SAP invoice export file; monitor the ALMA EDI vendor invoice process

Create and maintain vendor records in both the Libraries’ Management system (ALMA) and the University’s financial system (SAP)

Maintain financial records and process related data.
Monitor, verify, and reconcile accounts.
Interface with departmental and University personnel to obtain and provide information to verify or support financial records and ensure compliance with established University policies and procedures.
Prepare correspondence and answer inquiries regarding accounting information as required.
Analyze accounting information and prepare reports and statements.
May coordinate the work of lower-level staff as assigned.
Assist with special projects or tasks as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
Two years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Previous experience in a high-volume invoice processing environment.

Technical Qualifications & Specialized Certifications

Proficient use of ALMA or other Library Management Systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).

Education and Experience Equivalency
