Full Job Description

Smithouse is a full-service residential Design + Build firm providing clients with a positive building experience through sound planning, design, and project management practices. Both creative and solution-oriented, the Smithouse team – comprised of a select mix of building experts, designers, and master craftsmen – makes visions and dreams a reality for their clients.

The Site Supervisor position at Smithouse requires a multi-talented individual who is responsible for leading the on-site project team, including trade partners, co-workers, and clients, toward the goal of a completed project, ensuring that quality and schedule are followed while adding value to the client through great service. An effective Site Supervisor is capable of hands-on production work and management of others at the same time

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Project Management: Oversee daily operations on residential job sites, ensuring the scope of work is executed accurately according to blueprints, architectural drawings, and contracts.
Subcontractor & Crew Coordination: Schedule, direct, and manage carpenters, laborers, and specialized subcontractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
Quality Control: Maintain strict quality standards. Catch and correct deficiencies early to minimize rework and ensure a flawless finish.
Client Communication: Act as the face of the company on-site. Provide daily or weekly progress updates to homeowners, answer questions, and handle concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Schedule & Budget Adherence: Monitor project timelines and material deliveries to keep jobs moving forward efficiently. Alert the Project Manager immediately of any potential delays or budget variances.
Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies. Ensure the job site is clean, organized, and secure at the end of every day.
Material Management: Verify material deliveries for accuracy and inspect for damage. Coordinate returns or supplemental orders as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction or remodeling, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of residential building codes, framing, drywall, finish carpentry, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse stakeholders, including subcontractors and clients.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional critical thinking and resourcefulness. You possess the ability to troubleshoot complex, unexpected challenges that arise during renovation projects.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using smartphone apps, email, and project management software for daily logs and scheduling.
Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable truck/vehicle. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as required.
Demonstrates the ability to resolve conflicts effectively while maintaining a high standard of accountability for both personal and team performance.

Full-time, M-F 8 am-4 pm

Compensation

$25 - $45 per hour
