Overview

St. Paul Lutheran Church and School is looking for a reliable, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our campus. In this position, you will coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance, cleaning, repairs, supplies, facility-use requests, inspections, safety systems, and improvement projects. The Operations Manager will also assist in managing facility-related budgets and payments, evaluate vendor performance, and respond to urgent needs on campus. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, demonstrate sound judgment, have experience managing facilities or vendors, and be committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities

Vendor and Campus Management

Serve as the primary contact with all vendors and contractors used for the campus's operations, maintenance, cleaning, and repair.
Purchase all facilities cleaning and operation supplies and materials; research prices and buy items based on best value in mind
Serve as the primary contact for any outside groups that want to use the campus and/or facilities
Oversee the maintenance of the grounds and facility systems (e.g. HVAC, Phone, Network)
Coordinate and schedule all maintenance, cleaning requests, and work orders
Assist the appropriate boards to prepare the annual facility operations budget
Process all payment requests related to the operation of the facility (e.g. IT, Phone, Copier); perform periodic vendor reviews for the best value and recommend vendor alternatives or changes
Oversee all third-party vendors in support of the facility (e.g., custodial, landscaping, pest control, and alarm system)
Be the emergency contact to meet with vendors, repair persons, or suppliers.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of organizational management, budgeting, facilities management, vendor relations, and project management.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and church management software.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Working knowledge of safety regulations, risk management practices, and emergency preparedness.
Strong financial stewardship skills, including budget oversight and expense management.
Ability to collaborate effectively with pastors, school leadership, ministry leaders, staff, volunteers.
Previous experience working in a church, Christian school, nonprofit organization, or ministry environment is preferred.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
