Support & Intervention SpecialistMission

Position Summary

The Support & Intervention Specialist is responsible for assessing scholar needs, determining eligibility for intervention services, and delivering targeted, high-impact support that enables scholars to overcome barriers and succeed in training and beyond.

This is a scholar-centered, analytical, and intervention-driven role. The Specialist translates individual circumstances into actionable strategies, intervention plans, and resource connections. This role serves as a key decision-maker in identifying when intervention is required, deploying appropriate services, and ensuring scholars receive coordinated, timely support aligned with their personal and professional goals.

Position Responsibilities1. Scholar Assessment & Intervention Qualification

Conduct comprehensive assessments of scholars’ situations, including life stability, barriers, risk indicators, and readiness factors
Determine eligibility for intervention services using defined criteria and professional judgment
Identify early warning signs that may impact scholar success and escalate concerns as needed
Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation within internal systems

2. Intervention Planning & Service Delivery

Design and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to scholar needs
Deploy appropriate immediate intervention services (e.g., crisis support, referrals, resource allocation)
Monitor progress and adjust strategies based on outcomes and evolving circumstances
Ensure interventions are timely, practical, and aligned with training and employment goals

3. Counseling & Scholar Support

Provide ongoing counseling and guidance across personal, academic, and professional challenges
Support scholars in building resilience, accountability, and self-sufficiency
Deliver trauma-informed, crisis-aware support as needed
Maintain consistent, high-touch engagement to ensure continuity of care
Establish and maintain a formal feedback loop with the Enrollment Advisor team to refine readiness criteria

4. Cross-Team Mentorship & Support Alignment

Mentor scholar-facing teams on complex cases and intervention strategies
Collaborate with partners, program staff, and leadership to ensure alignment
Share insights, trends, and best practices to improve outcomes
Serve as a subject-matter resource for intervention and case management practices

5. Community Resource Coordination & Referrals

Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations
Translate community resources into accessible, actionable support pathways
Provide referral recommendations based on scholar needs and eligibility
Ensure referral processes are seamless, tracked, and outcome-driven

6. Data Tracking, Outcomes & Continuous Improvement

Track intervention outcomes, scholar progress, and service effectiveness
Analyze data to identify trends, barriers, and improvement opportunities
Contribute to standardized intervention protocols and best practices
Maintain compliance with organizational policies and data integrity standards

Licensure / Certification / Registration

Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle required

Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of experience in case management, social services, workforce development, or related field
Demonstrated experience assessing client needs and delivering intervention-based services
Strong knowledge of community resources and social service systems
Experience working with diverse, underserved populations
Proficiency with database or CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
High level of empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism while navigating cross-functional challenges using collaborative problem-solving
