Full Job Description

SUMMARY: CLINICAL SUPERVISOR/THERAPIST

TurnAround is seeking a full-time Clinical Supervisor/Therapist to join our residential services team where we provide state-of-the-art trauma-focused treatment (evaluation, therapy, case management services) to children ages 13- 17 and their families in the aftermath of exposure to human trafficking and complex trauma. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing administrative and clinical operations in addition to supporting trauma therapists’ work in providing trauma focused group/individual therapy to support child survivors that have experienced sexual violence. The Clinical Supervisor will also independently provide direct therapy services to an identified number of child survivors and provide direct supervision to master level clinicians and clinical level staff.

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

STARTING SALARY: 85,000 annually (based on education and experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory/ Clinical duties:

Provide clinical supervision to LMSW or LGPC level trauma therapists and behavioral support staff.
Collect, analyze, and complete data reporting in alignment with requirements for both the agency and funders.
Attend internal and external meetings with staff and community stakeholders.
Assist Director with programmatic responsibilities i.e., operations, policies and procedures.
Incorporates trauma-informed care philosophy, practices and strategies in all activities.
Effectively coordinates client care with the internal residential care coordinator and other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care as needed.
Provide trauma informed and culturally competent, individual, and group counseling for survivors of sexual trauma and crisis counseling as needed.
Providing individual therapy to child victims of trafficking and sexual trauma; provide family therapy to survivor families of trauma and their caregivers; provide supportive counseling to the caregivers of and traumatized children/youth.
Developing individualized treatment/service plans utilizing evidence-based models such as Functional Behavioral Assessments, positive behavioral supports strategies, etc., in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team and family/community support systems.
Coordinate discharge plans for child residents in collaboration with their parents/caregivers and assist parents/caregivers with the implementation when appropriate.
Develop & implement behavioral strategies and treatment modalities using strength based, trauma informed evidence-based practices.
Provide trauma focused groups & individual consultation to children & families.
Using trauma informed evidenced based practices to support positive and enhanced mental health functioning.
Facilitate ongoing staff training and professional development initiatives.
Assist in providing crisis prevention/intervention support.
Promote, support and demonstrate TurnAround’s mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards on a day to day basis.
Reports to the Director of Residential Services/ Program Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field or Doctoral Degree in Human service-related field.
Valid Clinical License in Maryland (LCSW-C, LCPC)
Board approved supervisor (LCSW-C, LCPC) or within 6 months of start date complete supervision training.
Knowledge of issues of sexual trauma and gender-based violence.
Proven experience with trauma informed counseling.
Demonstrates cultural competency in working with a diverse population.
The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of database management systems.
Ability to work evenings/ weekend shifts as needed.
Bi-lingual highly encouraged to apply.
3+ years direct clinical service with survivors of sexual violence required.
3+ years of experience providing trauma focused therapy to Youth and families.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position performs its’ duties routinely onsite a residential setting for children. This position may need to be accessible to take emergency phone calls after hours and weekends to offer guidance as individualized circumstances are identified and occur. Staff working in a residential setting are exposed to the possibility of vicarious trauma and victim trauma response by working with residents impacted by trauma and sexual violence. Other possible exposure risk includes narcotics, alcohol, pests, and of Bloodborne Pathogens.

HOURS: Position is full-time, standard 9:00am- 5:00pm Mon.- Fri, with the potential to be accessible during evening/weekend shifts if needed.

Ability to complete grant reporting narratives.
Ability to evaluate and analyze program data.
