Talent Acquisition Specialist
Coastal Maine General Contracting – Ellsworth and Mount Desert Island, Maine
Full-Time | $20.00–$30.00/hr (based on experience)
About Us & The Role
At Coastal Maine GC, we're a design-build construction company focused on quality workmanship, clear communication, and building exceptional teams.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead our hiring efforts, from initial sourcing through a signed job offer. You'll develop recruiting strategies, build talent pipelines, and create an outstanding candidate experience along the way, building relationships with future employees rather than just filling open roles.
We value:
- Communication in everything we do
- Accountability and ownership
- Strong effort and attitude
- Practical problem-solving and creativity
- Continuous personal growth
- Respect for people and the work
- Supporting your team and community
What You’ll Be Doing
Recruiting Operations: Keeping the recruiting process organized and moving requires strong attention to detail. This includes staying ahead of hiring needs and maintaining accurate candidate information.
- Manage the recruiting pipeline and maintain accurate candidate records.
- Review applications and identify qualified candidates to move forward.
- Source and attract candidates for both current and future roles by building genuine relationships with people in the trades, rather than relying on cold outreach and job postings.
- Maintain job postings and recruiting platforms.
- Partner with the HR Manager and department leaders to meet hiring needs.
Candidate Experience: Creating a strong first impression requires friendly, confident communications and the ability to connect with different types of people. This includes making candidates feel welcome, understanding what they are looking for, evaluating whether they meet the basic qualifications, and building excitement about the opportunity.
- Serve as the first point of contact for applicants
- Conduct initial phone screenings.
- Evaluate basic qualifications and potential fit.
- Communicate the position, company benefits, and growth opportunities.
- Move qualified candidates forward to office interviews.
Hiring & Offer Coordination: Closing out the recruiting process well is what turns a good offer into an accepted one. This is where accuracy and consistency matter most.
- Communicate hiring decisions to candidates.
- Prepare and send accurate offer letters.
- Follow up on offers, questions, and next steps.
- Maintain communications through offer acceptance.
- Hand accepted candidates off to the HR Manager for onboarding.
What We Offer
- $20.00–$30.00/hr (based on experience)
- Year-round, steady work
- Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays
- Health, dental, and vision insurance contribution
- Simple IRA with company match
- Discretionary Performance based end-of-year bonus
- Growth opportunities within the company
- Supportive team environment with strong communication and leadership
What We’re Looking For
Trades background and an existing local network are a big plus for this role, but they're not required. Strong recruiting fundamentals matter just as much.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and interviewing skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple open positions simultaneously while staying organized and responsive to changing hiring needs.
- Experience with Indeed, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, or other recruiting platforms is a plus, but not required.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
