Full Job Description

SAGE Dining Services® is expanding and seeking a highly qualified Executive Chef join our culinary team at a lovely private boarding school. We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef with high volume, high-end catering experience for an exclusive private boarding school in Lakeville, CT.

Our Managers have drive and passion for what they do. They design menus that reflect the communities they serve. They write these menus at the venue. Our Managers hire their teams, manage orders, inventory, catering, and lead talent management. Our Managers care about their campus communities, and the relationships they form make the career choice to work for SAGE that much more enjoyable. Our clients are appreciative, as they see the hard work that we produce at every meal, and they see the passion we put into our scratch menus.

This venue is open seven days per week and the schedule includes days/nights and weekends as this is a boarding school. The managers typically rotate schedules and catering events may change schedules. Manager schedules are typically five days.

Pay Type: $72,000.00 -$75,000.00 Salary

What you'll do:

Plan cycle menus and lead daily production (hands on).
Enforce safety protocols and lead by example.
Deliver an outstanding example of customer service to your team and to the community we serve.
Manage ordering and inventory.
Deliver incredible catering events rivaling 5 star restaurants.
Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training and ongoing mentoring of the team.
Participate in general location management with the Food Service management team.

What you'll need:

Customer service skills
High end catering and high-volume banquet experience.
Substantial culinary knowledge: trends, techniques, and processes.
Menu planning and production experience.
Minimum five years culinary experience.
Minimum five years managing others in the kitchen.
Ability to lead, not manage others and to mentor the team.
Desire to mentor the team and lift others to continue a culture of extreme ownership.
Happy disposition, both for community and team interactions.
Awesome references and solid resume.
Current ServSafe® certification, as well as local health department certification, where required.
