World Poetry Collective is an independent publishing and literary media company based in Kentucky. We publish books, develop authors, produce a literary podcast, and create content that introduces readers to meaningful writing.
We are looking for a Content Lead who can take responsibility for filming, editing, organizing, and publishing consistent video content from our Kentucky headquarters.
This is not a traditional social media management role.
The Content Lead will be responsible for documenting the work happening inside the company and turning it into professional, engaging content that supports book sales, publishing inquiries, and long-term trust in the World Poetry Collective brand.
Position Overview
The Content Lead will own the weekly podcast production process and the daily short-form content workflow.
You will work closely with our authors, editors, podcast guests, and office team to identify strong stories, film them well, and turn them into polished content.
Content will generally support one of the following goals:
- Encourage qualified writers to publish their own books
- Introduce readers to books published by World Poetry Collective
- Build trust by showing the people, process, and standards behind the company
- Educate writers and address common concerns about publishing
- Highlight poets, authors, and literary culture throughout Kentucky
Responsibilities
- Organize, film, edit, and prepare one podcast episode each week
- Produce approximately three to five strong short-form videos per working day
- Film authors, editors, podcast guests, books, office activity, and publishing projects
- Develop repeatable video concepts and recurring content series
- Edit content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and related platforms
- Write or assist with hooks, captions, titles, and calls to action
- Organize video files, project folders, footage, and final exports
- Maintain a consistent content production schedule
- Monitor performance and identify which topics and formats are working
- Coordinate with team members to schedule filming
- Help guests feel comfortable and prepared before recording
- Film interviews with poets, writers, bookstores, and literary figures throughout Kentucky
- Maintain cameras, lighting, microphones, and production equipment
- Protect the quality, tone, and visual identity of the brand

- Understands how to tell a clear and engaging story
- Can film and edit professional short-form video
- Has strong instincts for pacing, emotion, and attention
- Is dependable and comfortable working from a production schedule
- Can work independently and bring forward ideas
- Enjoys interviewing and working with creative people
- Has a genuine interest in books, poetry, writing, film, or storytelling
- Studies current content styles without copying them blindly
- Understands that content should support measurable business goals
- Wants to grow with a creative company rather than simply complete assignments
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with the following is helpful:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro
- DaVinci Resolve
- CapCut
- DSLR or mirrorless cameras
- Podcast audio and video production
- Lighting and microphone setup
- Short-form video editing
- YouTube production
- Creative agency work
- Documentary, interview, or editorial content
A formal degree is not required.
A strong portfolio, good judgment, reliability, and a clear interest in storytelling will matter more than traditional credentials.

Schedule and Compensation
- In-person position in Bardstown, Kentucky
- Approximately 15–25 hours per week to begin
- Schedule may be structured across three to five days
- Starting compensation of approximately $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience and portfolio
- Potential for expanded hours and responsibility based on performance
