Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Mobile Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality laboratory specimen collection services directly to patients in various settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while ensuring accurate and efficient specimen collection and processing. As a key member of our mobile healthcare team, you will bring your expertise in phlebotomy, patient service, and laboratory procedures to make a meaningful difference in community health.

Responsibilities

Travel to patient locations such as homes, clinics, or hospitals to perform blood draws and other specimen collections with precision and care
Obtain blood samples using venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other approved techniques while maintaining strict aseptic protocols
Accurately document patient information, vital signs, and specimen details in electronic health record (EHR) systems or laboratory information systems (LIS)
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of specimens to maintain integrity and compliance with laboratory standards
Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during collection processes
Follow all laboratory procedures and safety guidelines, including infection control practices such as aseptic technique and proper specimen handling
Assist with data entry, specimen processing, and maintaining detailed logs for quality assurance purposes

Requirements

Proven experience in laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, or clinical laboratory work with a focus on blood sampling and specimen collection
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to venipuncture and patient care
Certification or training in phlebotomy
Ability to perform venipuncture efficiently while adhering to safety standards and maintaining patient comfort
Experience working in hospital settings or with EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and documentation
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics
Physical ability to lift heavy supplies when necessary and stand for extended periods during specimen collection sessions
