Employment Type: W2 Contract – 6 Months with the Possibility of Extension
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00/hour (determined by experience)
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | Occasional Overtime

Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a Chemical Packaging Operator to support our client’s manufacturing operations in Martin, SC. This position is responsible for performing packaging and production activities involving chemical products while following established manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures.
The ideal candidate will have previous chemical manufacturing experience, required forklift experience, and a strong understanding of safe chemical handling. This role involves operating material-handling equipment, transporting chemicals, completing batch documentation, maintaining production areas, and wearing appropriate PPE based on process requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical packaging operations according to established production processes and procedures.
- Support manufacturing operations while maintaining required product quality and quantity.
- Transport chemicals, materials, and equipment to and from production processes.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, pumps, piping, and other applicable production equipment.
- Monitor product quality and quantity throughout the production process.
- Follow established safe chemical handling procedures.
- Wear required PPE, which may include full-face respirators, gloves, and protective suits.
- Clean production equipment and work areas following manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate proper disposal of waste and complete required compliance documentation.
- Communicate production, process, product, and equipment status to appropriate team members.
- Promptly report equipment issues, process deviations, and unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Complete accurate batch records at the conclusion of production operations.
- Maintain required production logbooks according to established procedures.
- Properly label in-process equipment and containers.
- Participate in required safety and quality training.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized production and work areas.
Qualifications
- Forklift experience required.
- 1–2 years of chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Associate degree in a life science-related field with 1–2 years of experience in a similar environment, or high school diploma with 1–3 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling methods.
- Ability to follow production procedures and established safety requirements.
- Ability to properly use, clean, and store required personal protective equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and other production documentation.
- Ability to identify and appropriately respond to unsafe conditions or production deviations.
