Stowe Area Association Vacation Planning Coordinator

As a Vacation Planning Coordinator, you'll be the first point of contact for travelers exploring Stowe. You’ll maintain a warm and inviting Visitor Information Center, promote local businesses, assist with lodging and activity reservations, and ensure visitors have a memorable experience from start to finish.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a knowledgeable and engaging ambassador for Stowe by providing personalized recommendations on local dining, shopping, and attractions via phone, email, and in-person with clarity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
- Leverage sales techniques to assist visitors in planning their ideal Stowe experience by providing reservation quotes, securing bookings, and offering concierge-style follow-up to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage return visits.
- Promote Stowe Area Association member businesses with confidence, aiming to drive traffic and sales to partner organizations.
- Oversee retail sales for postcards, books, maps, guides, and Stowe Gift Certificates in the Visitor Information Center.
- Assist with daily center operations and maintain an inviting and well-stocked visitor center, ensuring brochures and retail displays reflect current offerings.
- Act as the point of contact for office rentals, conference room bookings, and chair rental availability.
- Coordinate VIC Support for Community Events and support SAA-Sponsored Events as needed.
- Monitor & Record visitor feedback provided in person, and through the Post-Departure Survey. Collect visitor center foot traffic and the types of inquiries we receive to increase operational efficiency and identify interesting travel trends.
- Confirm & Update Childcare, Eldercare, and Petcare Lists [Biannually] and Restaurant Guide [Seasonally].
- Coordinate with the Guest Services Manager and Membership Manager to ensure member collateral and displays are up to date and well-stocked.
- Support the Guest Services Manager and other departments with special projects.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in customer service, tourism, hospitality, or marketing is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of Stowe’s tourism landscape, or willingness to quickly learn about local businesses and experiences.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable using digital tools and technologies. Experience with reservation systems is a plus.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and peak travel times.

Schedule: 40 hours a week
8-hour shifts from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days per week. Scheduled days may vary throughout the year and will require weekends. Required attendance and support at monthly evening networking events for members.
