Mentoring at Twinfield The mission of Twinfield Together Mentoring Program is to create and support meaningful mentoring relationships and connections so that youth in our community are engaged and thriving. This mission is fulfilled through the following mentoring programs: Community Based Mentoring, School Based Mentoring, and Peer Based Mentoring. Position SummaryPosition Overview: The TTMP program director focuses on relationships, both within the school building and within the wider community.
These relationships support student success as the program director pairs students in our PK-12 building with supportive adult mentors or peer mentors from our high school student cohort. The director is based out of the Twinfield building and is also expected to be out in the community, building relationships with community members and community organizations. The director collaborates with school staff to identify supportive mentor pairings and meets monthly with a volunteer advisory board. The board helps to advance the programs mission, develop a yearly sustainability plan, and maintain program integrity year to year.
The program director also collects data to evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting programing as needed. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain relationships with youth, mentors, and familiesMatch students with buildingbased, community, or peer mentorsProvide trainings and supports for mentorsOrganize activities for mentor pairs and support relationship developmentJob DutiesAdministrative: Manage grant funding including application and budgeting, tracking expenses, donations, and fundraising, and monitor success of program implementationResearch and pursue funding opportunities relevant to mentoring and student well-beingProvide regular program updates to advisory board, school administration, and families Engage in professional development to increase knowledge of best practicesMaintain documentation of outreach, meetings, and mentor support provided.Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with district policy and legal requirementsOutreach, Recruitment, and Oversight: Build positive relationships with families and community partners Promote mentoring program within local communities Oversee application, interview and background checks for all mentor applicantsOrganize onboarding trainings for new mentorsConduct monthly check-ins and on-going support as neededCollaboration: Work collaboratively with PK12 school staff to support students through mentoringCollaborate with school-based wellness team to plan and implement monthly wellness community engagement eventsDevelop partnerships with community organizations and agencies that provide services to children and familiesMaintain professional relationships with school colleagues and community partnersQualifications/ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily, in addition to the following: Education and Experience: A Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, volunteer management, education or a related field is preferred. Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common educational procedures and regulations.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals that conform to school/district standards or regulations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from administrators, parents, peers, board members, and the general public.Mathematical/Reasoning Skills. Ability to interpret and use test results by applying math concepts such as standard error of measurement, bands of confidence, standard scores, and percentiles.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills and Experience. Good basic computer skills and experience with word processing programs required. Experience with Microsoft and Google preferred.Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to efficiently, effectively, and regularly communicate and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, including students, peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
