Nursing Assistant/ Caregiver Job Description

You must be willing to work 25hours a week minimum

Place of Employment: 1 to 1 ratio,

Day and night Hours: Caregivers and CNA'S needed for last minute call outs, new cases and current cases until we employee the caregiver that fits the case.

Must be willing to go to any cases that our staffing coordinators need help at any time during the day and evening.

Accountability: Accountable to Resource One Medical Staffing. All employees of Resource One Medical Staffing are W-2 employees.

Job Summary: The Caregiver and CNA is the front-line position acting as a representative of the agency and providing services offered by the company. The Caregiver and CNA duties are not limited to those listed as the position has a wide scope of duties at times dependent on the client’s needs and always under the direction of the company. The Caregiver and CNA will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies of Resource One Medical Staffing.

Basic Standards: It should be noted that emphasis is for the direct support personnel to involve the client in the care program to help provide the client with the basic standards of healthy living as follows:

Physical Activity * Mental Stimulation * Personal Contact * Nutrition * Relaxation * Humor

Qualifications:

Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours a week

Current certificate in CPR and First Aid.
Clear criminal background report.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Able to work in stressful environments.
Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving.
Must have at least 1 years’ experience with elderly and disabled other than a relative
Must have your own vehicle and proof of car insurance

Work Hours: This position will require various times (including days, evenings and weekends, ) in one or more work sites. If circumstances arise that prohibit you from reporting to your assigned worksite, please contact management as soon as you are aware of the concerns.

Duties: The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client. The direct support personnel duties are not limited to those listed as long as they fall within the direct support personnel’s certification.

Companionship: One of the most important aspects of Resource One Medical Staffing will be providing customers with a strong sense of self-esteem and independence. Taking a genuine interest in the client, their life and their environment will help create a true sense of companionship. Whether it is playing a favorite game, reading, or conversing with the client provides the depth of our services. Therefore, we encourage you to entertain, converse with, or read aloud to clients to keep them mentally healthy and alert.

Provide clients and their families with emotional support and instruction in areas such as preparing healthy meals, independent living, and adaptation to disability or illness.

Dressing and Grooming: Provide clients with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchair or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
Housekeeping and Laundry: The direct support personnel will provide dusting, mopping, vacuuming, changing beds, cleaning the general living space, washing, drying, ironing, and folding clothes. Other duties that may be performed from time to time or at the client’s request are cleaning refrigerators/freezers, caring for house plants and taking out garbage.
Kitchen Work: Plan, prepare, and serve meals to clients according to prescribed diets. This encompasses light grocery shopping, cooking, baking, serving, assisting with eating, washing and drying dishes and general cleaning of the kitchen area.
Travel Companion: Accompany the clients to doctors’ offices and on other trips outside the home providing assistance and companionship. Resource One does not allow the employees to transport the member in their personal vehicle.
Errands: Perform a variety of duties as requested by client, such as obtaining household supplies and running errands.
Maintain Proper Records: Maintain records of client care, condition, progress, and problems in order to report and discuss observations with a supervisor or case manager. The direct support personnel will also need to maintain proper records in regard to hours worked and supplies needed.

clock in and out on the new updated IPAD. if both clocking in and out are not performed your payroll for that shift will be held until the MCO approves the shift.

Have all paperwork signed by client and to have paperwork completed and turn in on the designated times per Agency policy and procedure.

Scan your notes daily to the agency for payroll

General Notes: The direct support personnel will be required to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and their clients. There may be emergency situations where the direct support personnel will have to react quickly with sound judgment. The scope of duties described in this document may not include all duties to be performed by the direct support personnel and is subject to change on a case-by-case situation.
