Full Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of our accounting department. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and leading a team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and review timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable financial regulations.
Coordinate and support audits, including internal and external audits.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including training, performance evaluations, and career development.
Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency across the organization.
Manage accounting software and systems, ensuring accurate data management and reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Minimum of [2+] years of progressive accounting experience, including at least [1] year in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience in the Transportation Industry
Familiarity with ERP systems and financial planning software.
Strong IT skills
