Schedule: 12-hour or 12.5-hour day and night shifts, depending on facility
Openings: Multiple anticipated LPN positions
This anticipated assignment is subject to contract execution, facility approval, credentialing, and final staffing authorization.Position Summary
ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking experienced Travel Licensed Practical Nurses for anticipated skilled nursing, assisted living, veterans care, and long-term care assignments in Wyoming.
The selected LPNs will administer medications and treatments, monitor resident conditions, document nursing care, communicate changes to RNs, providers, and families, and coordinate CNA assignments within the LPN scope of practice.
At least nine LPN openings are anticipated at the Veterans’ Home of Wyoming in Buffalo. Additional LPN opportunities may become available at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin as part of a combined RN/LPN staffing requirement. The final RN and LPN allocation for Basin is pending facility confirmation.
Assignment Locations and SchedulesVeterans’ Home of Wyoming — Buffalo, WY
- Skilled nursing and assisted living setting
- At least nine anticipated LPN openings
- Twelve-hour day and night shifts
Wyoming Retirement Center — Basin, WY
- Skilled nursing and long-term care setting
- Additional LPN openings may be available based on the final staffing allocation
- Day shift: 5:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Night shift: 5:30 PM–6:00 AM
- Float shift: 8:00 AM–8:30 PM
Weekly hours and any guaranteed hours will vary by facility and assignment. Final scheduling details will be provided before the candidate accepts a written assignment offer.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, oxygen therapy, treatments, and other nursing services within the LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor resident health status and document changes in condition.
- Obtain vital signs and collect specimens as ordered.
- Recognize significant clinical changes and promptly notify the RN, physician, or nursing leadership.
- Accurately document medications, treatments, resident responses, provider orders, and daily care activities.
- Assist with resident admissions, transfers, physician visits, and continuity-of-care activities.
- Support implementation of individualized resident care plans.
- Assist with emergency response and facility disaster procedures.
- Assign, coordinate, and review CNA work as directed.
- Support CNA training and safe completion of resident-care duties.
- Communicate professionally with residents, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Follow resident-rights requirements, HIPAA standards, infection-control procedures, and facility policies.
- Participate in orientation, annual competencies, required training, and quality-improvement activities.
- Provide hands-on resident care when operationally required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Wyoming LPN license before placement.
- Associate degree in nursing or other education accepted for Wyoming LPN licensure.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Demonstrated competency in medication administration, nursing treatments, clinical documentation, and geriatric care.
- Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition.
- Strong communication, organization, and resident-care skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform direct resident-care duties.
- Ability to work assigned day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules when required.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Long-term care
- Skilled nursing
- Assisted living
- Geriatric nursing
- Veterans care
- Dementia or memory care
- Behavioral health
- Rehabilitation nursing
- Nursing-home or residential care environments
- Supervising or coordinating CNA assignments
Travel and Residency Requirements
Candidates must generally maintain a permanent residence more than 100 miles from the assigned facility, unless the client formally approves an exception.
Applicants must be willing and able to travel to Buffalo or Basin, Wyoming, and remain available for the approved assignment period.
